Lynda offers thousands of online courses, classes, training and tutorials to help users achieve their personal and professional goals. It may be familiar to LinkedIn users, because it’s part of the LinkedIn platform.
Courses are categorised within Business, Technology and Creative Skills – so you could learn how to use a specific type of camera, different coding languages, or even PowerPoint tips. The total number of courses is in the thousands. The skill level required and length of each course (usually several hours) is clearly stated.
Before diving in with a paid-for monthly membership, users can take advantage of a free 30-day trial (note that you won’t be able to do so if you’ve already followed the tip below).
Tip: upgrade to a LinkedIn Premium account for 30 days free of charge to gain added membership benefits, including being able to send a limited number of InMails to potential connections. In doing so you can also access Lynda.com content for free during that period. If you don’t want to pay the LinkedIn Premium monthly fee, make sure you change your account settings before the 30 days are up. Once you’ve accessed the 30-day trial, you won’t be able to do so again on either platform.
